Also: Choosing a device profile with 512GB of RAM improved the launch time of the emulator considerably. I wanted a device with API level 23 and had to choose a different profile than the default one because of this limitation. If your VM has 4GB of RAM, you should be able to run a profile for a device with up to 1GB of RAM. It’s really straight forward but there is one thing of note here: Launching the device will take forever (as in “will never finish”) if the VM doesn’t have enough RAM. It takes a few minutes, especially for the first launch. After installation is complete, download one profile and start the device. ![]() Make sure Hyper-V is enabled INSIDE the VM.
